# Slack Setup

> Steps for setting up integrating a slack workspace with monitors

The following steps outline the process for setting up the companion bot for Slack:

1. Navigate to the dashboard settings page and click **Add to Slack** to integrate the bot into your workspace.

2. Add the bot to channels where commands will be made and also add to monitor channels if you use features such as parrot channels and role pingers.

3. Get started with using slash commands `/`

> It is important to note that only users authorized on the dashboard will have the ability to issue commands.
